Why buy it for life
Most of what we buy is made to be replaced. A cheap knife goes blunt, a wallet splits, a jacket goes flat after a few winters, and we buy another one. Sheffield has spent centuries doing the opposite: steel that holds an edge, leather stitched by hand, pots thrown to be used every day. Buying something that lasts usually costs more on the day and less over the years. You also know who made it, and it can be repaired rather than thrown away. This guide only lists makers we'd send a friend to, and every link takes you straight to their own shop.
