Privacy and cookies
Best of Sheffield is an independent guide run by Jack Kirby. We don't sell anything, run ads or ask you to sign up, so we don't collect your name or email address.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are useful and which makers and places people click through to. It only runs if you choose Accept on the cookie banner. If you choose Reject, or don't choose, it doesn't load and no analytics cookies are set.
When it runs, Google Analytics records things like the pages you visit, how you arrived (for example from a search engine), the links you click to other sites, your rough location (town or region, not your exact address), and your device, browser and screen size. Google doesn't share your IP address with us. We don't use it for advertising, and advertising features are switched off.
The cookies
- _ga
- Tells one visitor apart from another. Lasts up to 2 years.
- _ga_*
- Keeps track of your current visit. Lasts up to 2 years.
We also save your choice (accept or reject) in your browser's local storage, so we don't ask you on every page. It stays until you clear your browser data.
Google keeps the detailed analytics data for no more than 14 months. Google processes it under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Changing your mind
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to accept or reject at any time. If you reject, we remove the Google Analytics cookies from this site. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings.
