Hamish Hamilton founded Buffalo Systems in 1979, working alongside serious outdoorsmen, soldiers and mountain rescue teams. Buffalo has made its clothing in Sheffield ever since. At its heart is the Double P System, Pertex and pile, which Hamilton pioneered. In Buffalo's own words: "No frills. No gimmicks."
Every garment is cut and stitched by hand in small batches, which is why some sizes and colours sell out between runs. The clothing is designed to last decades. Buffalo has been repairing its own kit for more than forty years, with the Sheffield team using the original materials: "If it's fixable, we'll fix it."
